My vacation reading list

I am a man on a mission. How in the world do I conceal books, digital cameras, laptop, MP3 player from a discerning wife who sees me coming a mile away? “Lord, strike her with blindness that I may take my books with me on holiday” And the saints said ….” Get a life!” […]

Faith fodder from the mission field- an update from Iris Ministries

Catching the Fire
Dear friends of Iris Ministries around the world, I’m going to try more frequent short messages and stay in closer contact!… I’m at a “Catch the Fire” conference in the States, suddenly far removed from the mud huts and poverty of Africa where I just was. And again I see how separated the […]

Vacationing for one week

As from tomorrow I am off on vacation. I shall be in this place - a quaint town in the south of Spain called Chiclana de la Frontera. I will probably be in Internet no mans land so do not expect any blog posts.

Assignment - 1 - Slam Dunk!

I have just clicked the "Submit" button and my first assignment for this module has just zipped through the information superhighway to my college’s servers.
Bliss …. all is at rest.  Like a weaned child is my soul within me.
Tomorrow it is vacation time (again) … but that is the subject of another blog … […]

Hitting the books (Again)…..

I have to submit an assignment this week so my blog will go into cold storage for the next few days.
To the thousands of readers who wait with bated breath rest assured … the blog WILL resume !
To the unappreciative few who are now emitting a collective sigh of relief remember ….. Jesus is watching […]

“Knock Knock” - (Eli jumps over stuff and races to open the front door!!!)
You hear the familiar voice say to you……
Hey I know Annabelle loves mussels so much that here, we wanted you have this whole bag full of them.
Man, life is good!- This is turning out to be one good day.

A pastor’s dream

It still rings as music to my ears:
I hope you haven’t made any arrangements for lunch cos we want to bless you and your family by taking you all out to lunch.
Hmmmm. Picture the following: Nice Italian restaurant, Liguine Carbonara served with a rice cream sauce with bacon […]

A pastor’s nightmare

It’s 11:01am Sunday morning. There are five people on time for the Sunday service. At this point thoughts are racing through my mind - thoughts that must plague pastors big time - it is the trepidation…………
what if nobody comes!?
Not thinking…….we would still have the King of kings and Lord of lords! In […]

Most ridiculous

I arrive at the host’s tiny apartment for a mid-week cell meeting. I set up the iPod for our worship. Four are there waiting and after some pleasantries we start worshipping and praising and praying, as others begin to arrive, and others, and others, and others, and others.
It is quite the scene. […]

Saints in the hands of a happy God?

From the Arctic to the Savannah, the desert to the tropics a new song is being sung. After years of heaviness, gone is the shame and the pain. It dawns on you, you realize its significance, you excitingly anticipate the next step in your adventure with God. No longer are you a […]

Hunger Among The People

A new post by Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries on her blog reads as follows:-
Thousands of people ran to the bush runway, clouds of dirt flying, children laughing and singing. Rolland landed our little Cessna on the rough grass. The joy never ends! The hunger among the people brings delight to the heart of Jesus. […]

Harvestime School of Ministry

We are gearing-up to launch out with our intensive bible course. The Harvestime course is a tried and tested two-year distance learning program for pastors, church planters, evangelists and missionaries - particularly those of a Charismatic or Pentecostal persuasion. It has been run in over 50 countries. It is designed to be an inexpensive “bible-college […]

The glory of God!

This is a picture of the harbour at Gibraltar being engulfed with clouds.  Let’s claim this as a prophetic picture shall we?  The whole of Gibraltar, and its surrounding region being ENGULFED by God!  Apparently there is such a thing as a "morning glory cloud" according to that fascinating and ethereal of organizations, the "Cloud […]

eBible.com invities to give away…..

Pssssssst…….. I have three invites for ebible.com to give away!  This is a cool new bible on the internet that, apart from the normal use of the text, you can browse using topics, or “tags” that have been placed by ordinary users like us. Simple, cool and powerful. I sort-of reviewed the product here.
So, email […]

Jaeson’s Journal - His transformation

Our value has nothing to do with what we can do for Him, but our value is based upon what Jesus did for us. I failed and exchanged report cards with Jesus. He got all my F’s and I got all His A’s! He got what my deeds deserved, death on a cross. I got what His deeds deserved, to be seated with Christ in heavenly places. I will no longer live for approval, but from approval.

Mid-week meetings.

We are currently having two mid-week cell meetings - Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays we have a cell group that meets in homes in Gibraltar - we rotate home every week so for example I host the cell meeting once every four weeks. This group is now approaching the size where it is getting too […]

Bi-National Fellowship - Only in Gibraltar.

This is a cool fact: Approximately half of our fellowship resides in Gibraltar, and the other half in La Linea, Spain. Our fellowship is therefore divided among two cities, in two countries and has two nationalities!" We currently have our meetings in Gibraltar in Spanish as most of the people in Gibraltar understand Spanish. However […]

iPod Worship

Creativity in worship has arrived. Or better said….desperate times call for desperate measures. We (still) do not have a worship team. We are seeing people warming up to using their God-given talents in worshiping God. It is not that we do not have worshipers in our midst, it is likewise not that we do not […]
