Stuck in Esther.

Today I have not been able to keep to my “Read the New Testament and Psalms twice and the rest of the bible once in a year” Bible reading plan. This plan, which has sort-of worked for me on and off for several years now is none other than the renowned “Robert Murray M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan”.
(Side note: Hey head over to Bible Plan and set up a reading plan for your good self, it is emailed daily to your inbox, with links to each passage in scripture for online reading via Biblegateway.com)
Well, today my intention had been to keep to my four chapters, but I just got stuck in the book of Esther. According to blogging ubber connoisseur Randy Bohlender , getting stuck in the word is a good place to be.
There are a few themes that run through the book that just shout at me:
1. Spirit of adoption - Mordecai takes his cousin as his own daughter.
2. Mentoring/Discipleship - Mordecai speaks destiny into his “daughter” Hadassah. He prophetically declares that she has come into the kingdom for such as time as this. Wow, destiny and circumstances collided.
3. Prophetic declaration - Mordecai decreed and released destiny into Hadassah. This proclamation released a grace that transformed Esther from a girl who was afraid to enter the king’s presence uninvited, to a bold history-maker declaring “if I perish, I perish!”
4. Preparation - Twelve months of soaking in perfume and cosmetics before entering into the King’s presence just speaks so loudly about soaking prayer and how we prepare to enter into intimacy through the perfume of the Holy Spirit.
5. Wisdom – What the enemy planned for evil was turned into on his head through the wisdom and prudence of Esther. The same gallows that were meant for Mordecai were the ones that the enemy found himself hanged on. Wisdom and prudence is what Father has produced in us through the lavish grace bestowed upon us (Ephesians 1:8)
The main stirring in my heart at he moment is:
“Never underestimate the power of an audience with the King”
