Who will deliver me from this body…..
One of the steps that I am taking in my, “back from the brink of burnout” strategy, is that of working out. Today was my first day. Ouch! ‘nuf said!
Rusty joints, saggy bellies.
One of the effects of Adam’s fall was that stuff that he used to enjoy out of provision he now had to earn with the sweat of his brow. I believe that this also applies to physical conditioning. 1 Timothy 4:8 says that bodily exercise profits a little. A better translation of the original Greek would be: “bodily exercise profits for a little while”. This is one area where I think we need to better steward this body that the Lord has entrusted to us.
I am in shape….round is a shape.
I have failed miserably in this area in the past.Weighing-in at 253 lbs I guess I would ned to lose around 50lbs at least to get back in shape. Actually I am in shape right now…….round is a shape (!) but I digress…..
I need to workout with weights three days a week, and then do some cardio another three days a week.
Only with an optimum physical condition will I have the energy to cope with a very demanding schedule. More on this later.
