The Centrality of the Cross

Two words to describe this: Freakin’ Awesome!

During a visit by my travel-partner-Madrid-homie Josue Morales, he gave me a gem of four DVD teachings by Mike Atkins. Recommended by a mutual friend and mentor (Pastor Steve Doerter) I sat down to watch the first DVD and was really blown away by the power and significance of the Cross. (Duh!)

Seeing this as a fundamental teaching for all of us, we are going through the whole series in our fortnightly “Harvestime School of Ministry” bible study. Basically, I watch the DVD, take down LOTS of notes and scripture references, and then teach it (In Spanish) in our bible study.

Response has been very good to the past two sessions and I am already looking forward to the next one. We had one seeker attend the bible study yesterday whilst we covered the session on “The Salvation of Sinners” ! ! ! Is that cool or what? After the study we headed down to where the local “Summer nights” provided a very festive atmosphere for our coffee and fellowship.

If you have not checked out these teachings…..,its time…..

Without the cross there is no message of the good new’s…..becouse on the cross “sin’s” power was defeated, so we could be free from it and walk in the new man!

@riverkid05: that’s right! this study series actually goes into what actually happened in order for sin’s power to be defeated, and what had to happen at the Cross for victory and freedom to be ours today. Bless you man.
