24/7 House of Prayer – Campo De Gibraltar
October 1, 2007 by John Baw
Lost in worship His call beckons, mount up higher, go deeper, draw nearer, come aside with Me, all is well now. With this wooing from the Lord, believers from most of the churches in the region surrounding Gibraltar gathered together on Sunday night to celebrate the start of our one month long 24/7 House of Prayer. Joined together in one purpose, thrust forward with the necessity that is laid upon hungry hearts to seek more of Him, the Campo 24/7 was officially started with a two-hour prayer and praise service to welcome the arrival of October, zero-hour for this year’s prayer quest.
A Unique Model
The Campo de Gibraltar House of Prayer uses a unique model whereby resident teams of intercessors stay for one month in the prayer room’s location (In our case we have chosen a quaint and rustic Hotel in Southern Spain) and more or less cover the night watches, and then a joint effort between different churches, ministries and individuals from our region cover the remaining two-hour prayer sets. Further to the activity happening in the prayer room several general celebrations have been organized each with a different focus:
- Prayer night for the Muslim world and all those involved in that field
- Youth gatherings
- Pastors’ all-night prayer vigils
- Weekly interviews with Pastors on the local Christian Radio station
- Weekly healing rooms where the sick will be prayed for.
- Talks and training sessions that are still in the planning stages.
The model goes viral
Norm Przybylski shared on how following on from prophecies received during last year’s 24/7, this unique model for month-long 24/7 houses of prayer is starting to spread in a leaven-like manner. This is when it goes “viral” and “infects” others in order to be replicated. At the moment there is a simultaneous month-long House of Prayer in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA, another in a north African country, and another in Jerusalem, Israel. Enquiries are also flooding in as to replicating this model in several European countries as well as a couple of Middle Eastern countries.
