@Garrett: Thanks for taking these comments on board. I think that you will find a tremendous reception to your project in Gibraltar! In fact, I think that whenever someone takes the time and interest to dig beyond the usual spin and positioning of media in Spain and UK people in Gibraltar pick this up and respond very positively! Keep up the good work and again, thanks!

Ernest and John, it's great to see your comments and approval! I do want to interview some GSD representatives, but travel funds are nonexistent right now.

In general, I'm amazed to see that my view of Llanitos has generally been well-received by Gibraltarians themselves. As an outsider affectionately looking in, it's always hard to know if one is representing the whole story or not.

Thanks for your kind words and input! The project is on a back burner for the time being, as I dig up some music and try to find someone to narrate it for real (I did the narration track after 2 days without much of any sleep, at about 4am, and it's pretty bad in my opinion), as well as complete a few more animated/graphics segments that I've been meaning to include. It will probably never be fit for any major film festivals, but it's been circulating online fairly well, and I just hope that people gain interest in Gibraltar and all of the unique cultural gems that it has to offer!

Well John... I think we share the same general view on the documentary. I too was critical of the lack of any political balance with the lack of input from the incumbent GSD Government. To be fair to Garrett Gibson and in his defence, he did give his reasons for that omission and I have no reason to doubt or question his explanation.... and well understood it. Nevertheless, a pity as the inclusion of some comment from the Government, would have rounded off a very nice documentary... which despite this, I still think is very good.

Anyhow... thanks for your thoughts! :)

@Cybernest: In terms of our identity, linguistics and culture, I think the video is very representative of what we are all about. It is a great piece of work!

Not that there is any palpable political slant on the video he does however only include Messrs Garcia and Bossano's opinion on the political future of Gibraltar - maybe he should have got Government's input or vision for the future just to make it a little bit more rounded/balanced. I am aware also that both Garcia and Bossano may have been wearing their non-opposition hats for the interviews (Constitutional expert / Italian guru) but nevertheless the mere absence of any "GSD" input will mean that many locals will read into this more than they ought to maybe.

heh heh Well... we can't keep abreast with everything... and don't worry, this is still 'cutting edge', Garrett hasn't even finished this video yet... never mind releasing it as done... so you're still ahead of the game! :)

By the way, whilst you describe in your post, what the video is about, you don't actually say what you think of it. As you may have seen on my post review of it... I think it's quite good and quite representative of the Llanito and Gibraltarians generally. What did you think of it?
