As a child of the previously "segregated South" I am ecstatic to see a man of color at the helm. Although I don't agree with Mr. Obama's unhindered access to abortion at any stage of pregnancy or that he doesn't realize that socialism doesn't work out in real life (just on paper). I am thrilled at the possibilities for God to move here. Please pray for heaven to invade the hearts of the Obama household & administration. No man, nor nation, is an island; we all effect each other. Let's pray for the glory of the Lord to be revealed in ALL nations in '09. Why not NOW? Why not US? blessings from across the pond. I doubt seriously that America is any more "racist" than any other country. One thing for sure....there's no "melting pot" of races like this one & the pot has been very, very good to those who come. Right now we have over 12 million illegal aliens who are not treated as criminals. Most are not "white" & receive the same overall pubic services, medical & educational. White babies ARE in more demand simply because "whites" adopt at a higher rate than "non-whites". 80% of black babies are now illegitimate with Hispanic babies racing to catch up to that sad statistic. Last year HALF of all mothers under 30 were single (combined races) . One sad fact here is that often black babies are denied adoption by agencies because the parents are caucasian & they don't want the child to lose their "heritage"....whatever the heck that means. The abortion rate in this country is as appalling as it is in Europe. In fact Europe's birthrate is not keeping up, in general, with the death rate so countries are encouraging immigration to keep up the workforce. The sad fact is that people don't seem to be as interested in marrying & being parents as they used to. Adolescent thinking seems to last well into the 30s now psychologists say & most adolescents don't want a baby to interfere with their "lifestyle". The father is missing in way too many "families" & that is the shame of it all. By the way, I have good friends I minister with that have adopted a black son (they're white) .
